L-R: Past-chairman Ric Clemmy and new BAA chairman Paul Boustead L-R: Past-chairman Ric Clemmy and new BAA chairman Paul Boustead

Paul Boustead takes over from Ric Clemmy as chairman of the British Aggregates Association

THE British Aggregates Association (BAA) has announced the appointment of Paul Boustead, managing director of Longcliffe Quarries Ltd, as its new chairman. He succeeds Ric Clemmy, managing director of Smith & Sons (Bletchington) Ltd, who was presented with his past-chairman of the British Aggregates Association framed certificate 2023–2025, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, dedication, and invaluable contribution, as well as his commitment to the industry and unwavering support for members, which have left a lasting legacy.

Paul Boustead said: ‘I would like to thank the board for placing their trust in me as the next chairman of the British Aggregates Association. I am very grateful for this opportunity, which gives me a strong sense of purpose for the future of the aggregates industry. Our organization is at an exciting point in its evolution. The accomplishments under our previous chairman over the past two years give us a great base to build upon. My thanks to Ric for his leadership and direction during this time. I think we can all agree, the Association is stronger and better placed to represent the needs of our members thanks to his endeavour.

‘My vision, aligned to the board and that of our chief executive officer, focuses on three main areas: improving our service offering to our members, growing our membership, and increasing our lobbying of government to maintain the extractive industry as a key component for economic success across the UK. The approach I have enjoyed during Ric Clemmy’s tenure is one I am keen to continue – with a spirit of openness and a considered approach to working with all stakeholders to take the Association and the industry forward.’
