Wincanton to deliver ready-mixed concrete for Hanson

Logistics firm to deliver 500,000 cubic metres per annum using fleet of more than 70 new vehicles

HANSON have entered into an agreement with logistics firm Wincanton to deliver around half a million cubic metres of ready-mixed concrete on their behalf every year.

A fleet of more than 70 new vehicles in Wincanton and Hanson liveries, each with a carrying capacity of eight cubic metres, will fulfil the eight-year contract.

Hanson say the initial deployment of mixers will be in the East Midlands, with the remainder placed around the country to best serve the needs of their customers.

Wincanton will be responsible for the management of the drivers and all safety-related compliance.

Commenting on the agreement, Hanson UK supply chain director Matthew Barlow said: ‘This outsourcing of part of our concrete delivery operations will complement our existing franchise and company vehicle fleet and allow us to provide high levels of service to all our customers.

‘We have chosen Wincanton for their expertise, scale and professionalism, and are confident that this new contract will unlock efficiencies within our business, where truck utilization and on-time delivery are critical.’
