Volvo Trucks flying the flag at NJB Recycling
London-based firm expands fleet with new Volvo FMX tippers and FL rigid skiploaders
NJB Recycling have recently taken delivery of three Volvo FL 4x2 rigid skiploaders and two FMX 8x4 tippers. All the new trucks come with NJB’s instantly recognisable Union Jack livery, which for the first time features a safety-compliant, fully reflective cab wrap.
Supplied by Tony Woods, transport solutions executive for Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London, the 18-tonne FE-250 skip loaders are with fitted with Hyva skip bodies that include remote control operation for increased safety. The 28-tonne FMX rigids (410hp) have been specified with Thompson tipper bodies and grabs.
Delivered with four-year Volvo service contracts, the new trucks are fitted with Volvo’s I-Shift automated transmission system, which has proven popular with the firm’s drivers.
‘They really appreciated how user friendly the Volvos are, whilst the comfort and performance levels were also highly rated by the vehicle operators,’ said Jamie Bowie, managing director of NJB Recycling.
FORS Silver-accredited and Crossrail-compliant, NJB Recycling also viewed Volvo Trucks as having an environmental advantage. Mr Bowie continued: ‘Volvo’s Euro-6 engine solutions for short haul vehicles operating in stop-start traffic is class leading.’
The company’s Union Jack cab wrap evolved around the time of the 2012 London Olympic Games. The Volvos debut a new reflective version, which complements other safety equipment such as additional cameras and side-scan systems.
