Volvo launch EcoOperator in the UK
VOLVO Construction Equipment Division, Volvo Group (UK) Ltd, have launched EcoOperator as part of the company’s ongoing strategy to raise awareness of environmental issues, promote better mobile plant operating efficiencies and reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
The EcoOperator training package is designed to help lower the end-user’s fuel consumption, reduce fuel bills and improve operator efficiency without compromising productivity. At the same time, this will help reduce machine wear and tear and significantly reduce the impact of emissions on the environment.
The training, which takes just one day to complete and includes both practical and theoretical exercises accommodating up to six candidates at a time, is held at the customer’s premises and uses their existing machines in order to minimize disruption and to demonstrate the possible savings on site in real time.
Fuel consumption is measured and monitored (if possible) via Matris – Volvo’s machine tracking and information system. After a period of six weeks, a second visit is made to the site to establish exactly how the training has benefited the operation and to determine the resultant fuel savings.
Volvo Construction Equipment say they are so confident that their specialist operator training will offer the recipient customer a definite saving in fuel that they guarantee to refund the training fees in full if improvements cannot be found – subject to certain terms and conditions.
