Vibration meter kit helps engineers protect industrial plant

THE new HS-620 vibration monitoring kit from Hansford Sensors Ltd contains a compact, portable digital vibration meter with a hand-held probe.
It is designed for maintenance technicians to monitor vibration levels on machinery, helping to find potential problems and so avoid future plant failure. Suitable as an entry-level unit for vibration monitoring, the meter's portability means that measurements can be taken in-situ in remote parts of a site. Conforming to ISO 10816-3 machine vibration standard, the unit can measure bearing condition and levels of velocity, acceleration and displacement, covering any of the four ISO machine group options ranging from large 300kW machines (Group 1) down to simple pumps rated at 15kW (Group 4).
The unit has a 'hold' facility where the display indicates the alarm status shown as 'OK', 'Vibration Alert' or 'Danger'. The vibration meter is powered by an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can operate for 48h continuously; battery condition is displayed as an icon. The unit is supplied complete with both a mains powered and an in-car battery charger. The HS-620 kit, which is available ex-stock, includes the vibration meter, a hand-held probe, a magnetic mount, mains and in-car chargers, an instruction manual, all contained within a protective carrying case.
