Venezuelan success for Metso
Crushing and screening specialist signs €10 million deal to supply equipment for dam construction project
METSO have signed a contract with Camargo Correa and Hydrologic Company to supply a number of crushers, screens and feeders for a new production plant in Venezuela.
The plant will operate at a nominal 800 tonnes/h and is part of the Tuy IV project, which includes the construction of a dam to supply water to Caracas. It will be built in the northern part of the Acevedo Municipality of Miranda State.
The €10 million order comprises two C140 jaw crushers; two HP4 cone crushers; a HP400 cone crusher; TS2.2 and Vibraline screens (60in x 72in); two TS5.2 screens; two TS6.2 screens; two Barmac vertical-shaft impactors, three belt feeders and several belt conveyors.
The contract also includes a stationary structure for the HP400 cone crusher, as well as spare parts, automation systems and assembly supervision.
Dionisio Covolo, commercial director for Metso Construction Equipment, said: ‘The contract highlights the successful collaboration between Metso and Camargo Correa, and it is worth noting that this project is unprecedented as the crushing plant will also be fully automated by us.’
