New bulk reception feeder to form part of cement plant expansion project in Switzerland

TELESTACK have been awarded a contract for the supply of a new Titan truck intake system as part of a cement plant expansion project in Switzerland. The customer opted for the Telestack Titan S800-6 system for the efficient reception of coal used in the cement manufacturing process.

The Titan S800-6 was chosen owing to Telestack’s extensive track record with proven Titan installations globally. The system has to work within a pre-defined area within the plant as part of the cement plant expansion, which aligns with the customized nature of Telestack’s product portfolio.

A key part of the selection was the customization needed for this project, including an integrated dust enclosure and dust-extraction filters to meet environmental requirements on site, along with integrated access ladder/steps and maintenance walkways throughout for the operator. There is also an extended mobile ramp to ensure easy access for the delivery trucks.

As with all Telestack products, the Titan S800-6 unit is fully designed, manufactured, assembled, tested at the factory before dispatch, thereby ensuring quality and ease of installation when the unit arrives on site, allowing for a seamless build process.

Telestack say their expertise in designing bulk reception feeders means they fully understand the truck unloading process and the benefits that surface-type feeders can offer each operation, including:

  • Elimination of costly excavations/civil constructions with ground-level mounting (no water drainage issues)

  • Easy access and maintenance of unit compared with underground constructions

  • Direct ‘truck-to-plant’ feed system eliminates double/triple handling of material

  • Consistent feed and flow to the cement plant to increase efficiencies

  • Seamless integration with existing/new plants with regard to dust enclosures, dust extraction, and electrical/PLC control systems.
