Tailor-made process weighing
AVERY Weigh-Tronix have launched the Evolution E1310 programmable weight indicator, which can be tailored to suit any weighing requirement and is said to offer up to 40% faster operation than other units as well as easy integration into existing systems.
The E1310 is compatible with all standard weighing devices, from a laboratory balance to a vehicle weighbridge, and can monitor up to eight scales simultaneously in both static and in-motion weighing applications.
The indicator is designed to offer the user high accuracy combined with the flexibility required in an automated process environment. It can operate as a stand-alone control system monitoring a specific application or can be integrated into all major networks, PLCs and SCADA systems for broader process control.
A wide choice of protocols is available for sending and receiving data including monitoring and data acquisition via a web browser (HTTP), error reports via email (SMTP) or data transmission via FTP. The E1310 also allows AS/400, LAN or WAN access.
The E1310’s large graphics display can be tailored to suit the application, offering over 4 million different configurations of weight data, text and graphics, with on-screen prompts to guide the user through the weighing sequence. A wide variety of on-screen graphs, charts and gauges help the operator to monitor process performance quickly and easily in real time, while an alphanumeric keypad or optional keyboard makes it easier for supervisors to change basic settings such as the softkey options and other programme parameters.
The indicator will monitor all connected scales, sensors and control devices as well as its own internal system and notify the operator of any faults via clear messages on the display. In addition, if the indicator is connected to a fieldbus, the problem can be viewed at any access point along the network and an email sent to notify local or remote managers of the problem.
Customers can also benefit from the optional modem connection, which will report indicator or scale faults automatically to an Avery Weigh-Tronix technical support centre for analysis and resolution, without the time and expense of a service call out.
