Swiss success for Volvo material handler

First Volvo EW200E MH in Switzerland prove its worth to Waser Entsorgung AG

TWO machines from Volvo CE – the EW200E MH material handler and L60H wheel loader - are helping Swiss waste-recycling specialist Waser Entsorgung AG with their ambition to handle waste materials in the most environmentally friendly way.

The company operates five disposal centres and sorts/handles a wide variety of waste and recovered materials from private, commercial, and industrial customers. As part of their commitment to embracing circular economy principles and reducing waste across their operations, Waser Entsorgung rely on an efficient fleet of machines to support this philosophy – and they now have the EW200E MH material handler, the first to be used in Switzerland, and an L60H wheel loader at their Therwil site.

Designed to handle even the toughest working conditions and developed specifically for the waste handling and recycling industry, the Volvo EW200E MH is a powerful and reliable material handler.

‘The machine is mainly being used to sort waste material of all kinds, including construction rubble, bulky goods and scrap metal – it’s our main tool,’ explained Christoph Cabibbo, operations manager at Waser Entsorgung.

Based on the more powerful EW240E MH model, and weighing in at 22.7 tonnes, the machine is equipped with a Volvo Stage V engine (173hp) and has a reach up to 10m, thanks to a choice of a 4m long gooseneck arm or a 3.5m long sorting arm.

The Volvo EW200E MH can be also configured as required, so customers can optimize productivity for their specific application. Comfortable and versatile, the cab can be easily raised by joystick up to 5m, providing a clear view of the job at hand to maximize productivity.

Meanwhile, the Volvo L60H wheel loader, which is mainly used to move and feed various materials into the systems on site, as well as loading on to trucks, offers exceptional stability, thanks to a new optimized loading unit weight and redesigned counterweight.

The loading shovel also features Torque Parallel (TP) linkage, which not only delivers high breakout, tilt in, and lifting forces, but also keeps the attachments parallel throughout the lifting range for exceptional load stability and easy bucket filling.

Available with a variety of purpose-built attachments, including grapples, sweepers, snow ploughs, and material handling arms, the L60H can be used for a wide range of applications.
