Spadeoak lay foundations for Midlands expansion
New Leicestershire hub will offer contracting services to Midlands businesses and beyond
AS part of their strategy to offer reliable and cost-effective contracting services to more UK businesses, Spadeoak – Aggregate Industries’ specialist civils, sports and surfacing contractors – have opened a new Midlands base in Leicestershire, as they seek to provide cost-effective solutions and support to clients.
Currently based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, Spadeoak are an established name in the asphalt surfacing industry in the south of England and have been recognized as one of the highest-quality contractors in Great Britain for more than 45 years.
This new significant milestone for the business sees it for the first time opening a dedicated office outside the south region, as it seeks to offer Midlands- and Northern-based businesses greater access to its services. By making the move to their new office in Leicestershire, Spadeoak say they will be able to offer a higher level of cost-efficiency, speed on each project, and client service to more customers.
Spadeoak managing director Kevin Murgatroyd said: ‘Being based in Buckinghamshire for the past 45 years, we have carved out a strong name for ourselves across the south of England, where we consistently offer our high-quality contracting services to civils projects, an array of grassroots and professional sports venues, and non-highways surfacing works.
‘Following consultation with clients, we have identified a real market for our services in the Midlands and the opportunity to support our clients in closer proximity to major projects for 2023, opening us up to more customers in the North West, North East, and Wales.
‘By opening a secondary office in Leicestershire, we will be able to provide greater logistical access to these regions, as well as better cost-efficiencies, faster turnaround times, and our outstanding levels of customer service, which we’ve always delivered across the south.’
As part of Aggregate Industries, Spadeoak have access to a wide variety of asphalt products, most of which are available as lower-carbon warm-mixed asphalts.
Mr Murgatroyd continued: ‘As well as being a renowned name in contracting services ourselves, our unrivalled access to and experience in laying Aggregate Industries’ range of sustainable asphalt products makes us a regular and reliable go-to contractor for a number of businesses, especially those which seek to improve their sustainable credentials. Our new localized hub also means less travel time to Midlands construction sites, thus reducing the overall carbon footprint of projects.
