Senior management changes at Colas

Thierry Madelon takes charge of Colas UK & Ireland; New role for Faical Lahmamsi in MESEA region

COLAS UK have announced that chief executive officer Faical Lahmamsi is moving to a new role within the Colas Group as director of Colas in the Middle East and south-east Africa (MESEA).

Mr Lahmamsi’s move follows six successful years in the UK, where he has been chief executive officer since 2022. With more than 30 years’ experience in the transport and infrastructure sector, of which more than two decades have been with Colas in Morocco and the UK, he will now focus on the future development of the MESEA region.

Taking up the new position of managing director of Colas UK & Ireland is Thierry Madelon, who has more than 35 years’ international experience in the transport and construction materials industry, including a long-standing career within the Colas Group.

Mr Madelon previously held various positions across the Indian Ocean and the West Indies before moving to Asia, where he played a key role in launching Colas operations in India and Vietnam.

He also spent more than a decade in senior leadership roles in North America, before moving to Africa where he served as managing director in Cape Town and later in Johannesburg, overseeing complex infrastructure projects and the development of local management talent.

In 2018, Mr Madelon was appointed as chief executive officer of Colas Australia, driving strategic growth and operational excellence across the country.
