ROC CARE service package from Atlas Copco
ATLAS Copco have introduced ROC CARE as an easy way for owners of surface drill rigs to pass the responsibility of maintenance to Atlas Copco and their authorized distributors.
Tailor-made for construction and quarry businesses that may not want to or do not have the resources to execute a systematic maintenance programme, the ROC CARE service package guarantees regular inspections and service, giving the drill rig a higher resale value as well as ensuring the equipment continues to operate at maximum performance.
The four key elements of ROC CARE comprise: scheduled service; inspection reports; extended warranty; and Procom. These focus on breakdown prevention rather than unplanned repair, thereby increasing rig availability and helping to keep operating costs to a minimum. ROC CARE also extends the warranty on major rig components against catastrophic failure.
Scheduled 250h inspection and maintenance is a key element of the package. Rigs are serviced according to each original equipment manufacturer’s maintenance scheme and ROC CARE covers all parts and fluids needed for scheduled maintenance, including oil filters, air filters and fuel filters.
A detailed rig inspection report is provided, which highlights any additional measures that will help prevent potential problems occurring.
The limited extended warranty provides protection for up to 5,000 engine hours or four years against the breakdown of key components, such as the diesel motor, compressor, hydraulic pumps, feed motor, traction motor and traction gears. In addition, all fabricated major mechanical components, such as the wagon frame, track frames, boom support, booms, boom head and feed holder, are also included.
In addition, ROC CARE includes Internet-accessed Procom – a global satellite-based system that monitors rig status and lets the driller view engine hours, impact hours, time to service, and, on some models, drill metres. Procom also allows quarry management view drill production on a daily basis and to download history into Excel.
