Recycling contractor chooses Terex Finlay equipment

Terex Finlay J-1170AS mobile jaw crusher

Grab & Deliver’s production levels soar after taking delivery of J-1170AS mobile jaw crusher

SUNDERLAND-based Grab & Deliver have seen an increase in productivity after bringing in a Terex Finlay J-1170AS tracked jaw crusher. The aggregates supplier purchased the compact plant from Finlay Plant Northern, part of the Finlay Group.

And since delivery of the J-1170AS, Grab & Deliver – who also provide waste material collection services and haulage vehicle maintenance – have been able to process 5,000 tonnes of aggregates a week.

Featuring a robust hydrostatically driven jaw chamber, the J-1170AS crusher has been brought in to work alongside a Terex Finlay 883 screener. Material brought to the site is fed into the screener to produce topsoil and oversize aggregate. The J-1170AS is then fed with the oversize material to produce –45mm material for use in roads and footpaths at a rate of 700 tonnes a day.

Peter Barrass of Grab & Deliver has been impressed by the benefits of the machine. ‘The new plant has completely proved itself and production levels have been excellent,’ he commented.

‘You just press a button and it starts automatically – it’s so simple to use and all parts are easily accessible. It takes up very little room on site and, thanks to the remote control, we can easily move it about – something we’ve never been able to do with a crusher before.’

Charlie Nairn of Finlay Plant Northern added: ‘It has been fantastic to see the Terex Finlay J-1170AS performing so well for Grab & Deliver. The plant is a versatile crusher that’s ideal for many different applications. With a robust variable-speed vibrating grizzly feeder and integrated prescreen, it offers best-in-class production levels not just in recycling, but also mining, quarrying and demolition.’
