Production milestone for HCME
Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV celebrate the shipment of their 1,000th special application excavator
HITACHI Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) have manufactured and supplied their 1,000th ZX250LC-3 excavator to Ductil Steel, a subsidiary of the Russian-based Mechel Group, one of the largest steel companies in the world.
The materials handling unit was sold as part of a sales agreement with the Mechel Group for a total of six machines – three ZX250LC-3s and three ZX250W-3s.
Equipped with a hydraulic elevating cab, short boom, straight-arm with bucket cylinder and linkage, and a rotating selector grab, the ZX250LC-3 excavator will be used to unload steel scrap from trucks at a Ductil Steel site, near Bucharest, Romania.
To mark the occasion, a special ceremony was held at the Japanese company’s Oosterhout factory in The Netherlands. Representatives of both HCME and their Romanian dealers, Powertek Equipment S.R.L., attended the event, which included presentations, a tour of the factory and the official handover of the keys to Powertek marketing co-ordinator Anca Stefan.
‘The production of the 1,000th special application machine in Europe is a great achievement for both HCME and Powertek,’ said Mark Burghoorn, a product sales representative for special equipment at Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV.
‘It highlights Powertek’s strong focus on special application equipment and their positive and strategic approach to this sector. The dealer’s established network will help Hitachi material handling machines to be successful in the growing Romanian market.’
