PRECAST2015 showcases the industry’s best
More than 400 delegates and 60 exhibitors take part in the UK’s biggest precast concrete event
THE UK’s biggest precast concrete event took place last week (Thursday 21 May) at Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road Stadium. Sponsored by Tekla, PRECAST2015 attracted more than 400 delegates and over 60 exhibitors who showcased the industry’s latest products and services from the UK and abroad.
With seminars, live demonstrations and networking sessions taking place throughout the day, delegates were able to attend briefings on key topics including Building Information Modelling (BIM), ISO4001, health and safety, resilience of the built environment, and the economic outlook.
In addition, as part of recent initiatives to improve loading safety, Wincanton and Norbert Dentressangle provided informative live demonstrations with vehicles outside the stadium, while indoors speed-networking sessions with manufacturers proved extremely popular, providing a valuable opportunity for suppliers in the industry to connect with potential new customers.
The British Precast AGM also took place during PRECAST2015 and associate and full members who had been shortlisted for the prestigious Best Practice Awards were announced during the exhibition.
Andrew Minson, executive director of British Precast, said: ‘PRECAST2015 was a fantastic day and a great opportunity for the precast industry to receive briefings and discuss vital topics for the coming year, while also viewing the latest product launches and innovations from its supply chain.’
He added: ‘Plans for PRECAST2016 are already under way and we’re aiming to make it even bigger and better.’
