Post-UKCS success for Utranazz
Concrete equipment specialist celebrates recent success as winner of UK Concrete Show Innovation Award
YESTERDAY [30 April] saw the much-coveted UK Concrete Show (UKCS) Innovation Award presented to family-run business Utranazz at their Oxfordshire headquarters by Concrete Connect editor Clare Howcutt-Kelly.
The award was in recognition of the company’s new concrete batching plant, the Sami T3-100S, which was launched at the show at the NEC Birmingham in March.
An enhanced version of the popular Sami T3-100 plant, the T3-100S incorporates a state-of-the-art chevron or smooth conveyor belt system designed to minimize waste and mess. It also delivers a maximum output of 40–50m3/h.
On receiving the award, sales director, Daniel Wiseman said: ‘We’re just ecstatic to win this – we didn’t expect it and we are absolutely thrilled.’
He added that customers who own a Sami T3-100 and who wish to upgrade to the Sami T3-100S will be offered generous buybacks and part exchange deals.
Utranazz were established in the 1960s by current managing director Tony Evans. Last year the company moved to a new, purpose-built, 25-acre premises. Located in Piddington, near Bicester, Oxfordshire, it encompasses offices, workshops, and a dedicated spare parts building.
The company sells internationally with customers as far afield as Australia, America, Dubai and elsewhere, whilst those in the UK interested in purchasing new equipment can take advantage of a ‘try before you buy’ scheme as part of its hiring offer.
Mr Wiseman explained: ‘Hiring is a growing part of our business, but not everyone knows we offer it. We can deliver within the UK and it’s a complete package, including breakdowns, training and certification, delivery and collection – we do the lot.
‘If someone is considering purchasing, they might wish to test out the equipment first. If they hire it for three months and then go on to purchase it, the initial hire fee is knocked off, so they’ve only got the balance to pay. We also offer demos.’
Since the UK Concrete Show, business has been booming with three Sami T3-100S batching plants being sold as a direct result. One plant has recently been delivered to Carters Concrete in Wimbourne.
Looking to the future, Mr Wiseman said: ‘We supply everyone from one-man operations to multinational companies and everyone in between, and we’ve got plans to develop the [Piddington] site further, which will create more workshop space. It’s a really exciting period of growth for us.’
