SCARBOROUGH-based Castle Group Ltd have upgraded their line of pocket-sized sound-level meters and noise dosemeters with new features and functions.

The newly named Sonus range has been designed with improved safety in mind with key features such as combined sound-level and dosemeter frequency measurement, data logging to a sizeable memory and measurements to support noise at work and environmental applications.

The revamped range offers Class 1 or Class 2 accuracy, complies with the IEC 61672 measurement standard and has a noise measurement range between 30-140dB (Leq, Lmax, Lcpeak, Lepd and LE). The Sonus instruments can also measure two frequency weightings simultaneously as ‘A’ and ‘C’, or ‘A’ and ‘Z’ supported by fast, slow and impulse time constants.

Once noise measurements have been recorded, the data can be downloaded into Castle’s standard dBdata software for producing graphs/tables or for copying and pasting into standard PC software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
