Plasmor install more Mogensen machines

Concrete manufacturer choose vibratory process equipment for their manufacturing plant

Plasmor Ltd, independent manufacturers of concrete paving, building blocks (including blocks with high thermal efficiency and fire-resistant properties), architectural masonry and light-weight aggregate, installed four items of Mogensen vibratory process equipment at their Heck, near Goole, manufacturing plant in 2010. This brings the total of Mogensen machines installed by Plasmor during the past few years to 11.

The company, which has a reputation for operating in an environmentally-sensitive manner making extensive use of recycled aggregates and waste products such as power station ash, has nine manufacturing plants located in Yorkshire, Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and County Durham, and distribution facilities in the South East of England. Mogensen have supplied equipment to three of them, Heck, Knottingley and Widnes.

The vibratory equipment supplied comprises various feeders, screen feeders and screens. The machines are mostly handling power station furnace bottom ash with a bulk density of around 1,000kg/m³. Feed rates range from 20-180m³/h.

Some of the machines, depending on location, are dust-proofed; all are fitted with Abro wear-resistant steel linings in vulnerable, high-impact areas. Where screening is involved the separation carried out is mostly at 40mm, the purpose being to protect a subsequent crusher from excessively large lumps of feed: one of the Heck screens is, however, making a separation at 15mm.
