Off-highway truck efficiency in focus for Philippi-Hagenbuch

US OEM to highlight custom haul truck innovations at Conexpo-Con/Agg 2026

PHILIPPI-Hagenbuch Inc., specialists in off-highway truck customization, will present a range of productivity-enhancing haul truck solutions for aggregates and construction operators at Conexpo 2026.

Show attendees visiting the company’s booth will have the opportunity to see Autogate Tailgates, which have been engineered to increase a truck’s hauling capacity by up to 20% whilst reducing cycle times and improving tyre life.

Designed to maximize volumetric capacity and minimize material spillage, the tailgates integrate seamlessly with the truck body to optimize load distribution, resulting in faster loading, improved manoeuvrability, and enhanced on-site safety. They also improve tyre life and reduce maintenance through a more centred and evenly distributed load.

Dust suppression technology will also be a key feature, with Philippi-Hagenbuch set to showcase their HiVol Water Tanks. Designed to provide maximum water volume for specific off-highway truck models, the tanks include rear-mounted horizontal spray heads that can be individually controlled for efficient haul-road treatment. Internal baffles minimise water movement to improve stability, while full-size access doors make maintenance easier. Each tank is made from Hardox 450 steel to ensure a long service life in tough quarry and construction environments.

Carryback remains a persistent issue for operations handling sticky materials such as clay, mud, ash and dirt, with material build-up in truck bodies reducing volumetric capacity and impacting productivity. At Conexpo 2026, Philippi-Hagenbuch will be advising visitors on solutions to tackle these challenges, including the company’s Load Ejector System.

The system is engineered to virtually eliminate carryback, restoring full rated capacity on every haul and reducing downtime associated with manual cleanout. When the body is raised, the Load Ejector drops away from the truck bed under gravity, dislodging material as it hangs vertically to leave the body clean and ready for the next load.

Visitors will also be able to explore Philippi-Hagenbuch’s wider portfolio of haul truck enhancements, notably their Rear Eject Bodies and Sideboards. Rear Eject Bodies are designed to improve productivity and enable safe material discharge while the truck is moving or operating under overhead obstructions. Sideboards provide an easy way to increase hauling capacity and reduce material loss, helping operators move more tonnes per cycle.

‘Conexpo’s three-year-cycle means there is always extra buzz as it gets closer,’ said Josh Swank, Philippi-Hagenbuch’s chief growth officer. ‘The show generates a great deal of traffic, leading to some high-quality conversations in our booth. We anticipate showgoers being very interested in learning how modifying their haul trucks with custom-engineered solutions can take their hauling efficiency and safety to the next level.’
