New UK sales manager for Bell Equipment
Richard Higgott appointed to fill key role previously held by managing director Nick Learoyd
BELL Equipment UK have appointed Richard Higgott to their team as UK sales manager, filling the key role previously held by recently promoted managing director Nick Learoyd.
Mr Higgott brings extensive sales management experience to his new post, having held the position of north and national sales manager at Liebherr for the past two years. Before that he held a sales role with heavy equipment manufacturers Terex.
Prior to embarking on his sales-driven career path, Mr Higgott trained as a mechanic, performing a hands-on role within one of the country’s leading plant-hire firms. His side-step into sales began via a position within a temperature-controlled elements firm before returning to the construction industry with Terex.
Mr Higgott believes his sales expertise combined with practical knowledge of plant machinery will be extremely advantageous as he embarks on his new role, which will see him managing the sales team and meeting budget quotas.
Other responsibilities will include overseeing Bell Equipment’s presence at the Hillhead 2014 exhibition in June, while also developing market knowledge of Bell’s new E-Series models – the B25E and B30E – which were launched into the UK last autumn.
‘Choosing to move to Bell has been an exciting decision and I’m looking forward to building upon the sales team’s success over coming years,’ said Mr Higgott. ‘I like the way Bell do business and feel that this appointment has been the right move for the way I work.’
Nick Learoyd added: ‘We’re delighted to be welcoming Richard on board. He’s developed a strong sales skills set throughout his career to date, which should prove a great benefit to our existing sales and marketing operation.’
