New slewing ring service from Revolvo

Revolvo

Manufacturer meeting requirement for slewing rings outside catalogue ranges and on short lead times

UK bearing manufacturers Revolvo are meeting the urgent requirement for bespoke slewing rings outside of normal catalogue stock ranges, and on short lead times, with a new service to supply slewing rings from 300mm to 4,500mm in diameter.

‘We are satisfying a niche in the market for bespoke, slightly non-standard or larger sized slewing rings in small-to-medium volumes, usually less than 50 pieces, where existing manufacturers of slewing rings either can’t deliver on time or can’t be bothered to quote for small-volume enquiries,’ said Adrian Menzies, sales and marketing director for Revolvo.

‘Increasingly, we have found the established leading European slewing ring manufacturers production capacities filled with high-volume orders from the wind energy sector, leading to customers looking worldwide, often to unproven sources, for suppliers prepared to manufacture lower volumes with competitive delivery times.

‘With our state-of-the-art technology, which provides us with the ultimate in production flexibility, we are well placed to meet this demand, with the ability to deliver in a matter of weeks, rather than months. Whether the requirement is for a bespoke design or small adaptations to a standard catalogue product, Revolvo can provide a solution.’

The scope of Revolvo’s manufacturing service includes slewing rings with single and double row balls; cross rollers; three-row rollers; and ball/roller arrangements. Gear teeth can be internal or external, with both helical and straight forms available. Where the requirement is for bespoke solutions, Revolvo provide an in-house design and manufacturing service to deliver slewing rings to customer’s exact specifications or to suit the requirements of a specific application.

In addition to proprietary manufacturing, Revolvo also offer in-house repair of damaged slewing rings, dependent on the economics of size and cost. In many instances, this can reduce lengthy and costly equipment downtime from several months to a matter of weeks or even less.
