New secretary general of CECE takes office
Riccardo Viaggi, former secretary general of the European Builders Confederation, begins new role
RICCARDO Viaggi has today started his new role as Secretary General of the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE), which represents the interests of more than 1,000 manufacturers through national trade associations in 13 European countries.
An Italian national, Mr Viaggi was previously secretary general of the European Builders Confederation (EBC), a position he had held since 2009. In this function, he represented European construction micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises from the 20 affiliates and partners of EBC in Brussels.
According to CECE president Bernd Holz, Mr Viaggi’s relevant experience and success in leading a EU trade association in the building sector will help strengthen the visibility and position of the construction equipment industry in Europe. ‘Riccardo has strong management experience and solid knowledge of both our industry and the Brussels political environment. I am looking forward to working with him,’ said Mr Holz.
Mr Viaggi added: ‘I am looking forward to working together with CECE’s members, partner associations and other stakeholders, to promote the interests of our strategically important industry towards the European institutions.’
