Richmond Averill takes up regional sales engineer position in company’s Industrial division
GLOBAL automotive and industrial suppliers Schaeffler have announced the appointment of Richmond Averill as regional sales engineer for south-west England and South Wales, Industrial division at Schaeffler (UK) Ltd.
Reporting to Leigh Hopkins, industrial sales director at Schaeffler (UK) Ltd, Mr Averill will be responsible for sales of Schaeffler’s complete range of industrial bearings and linear systems, as well as related hardware and services, including condition-monitoring systems, bearing fitting and maintenance tools, lubrication equipment, bearing failure analysis, online and offline condition monitoring, customer training and consultancy.
He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in linear motion systems, having spent 10 years working in the linear motion industry for various UK-based suppliers, including a role that involved designing and building bespoke special-purpose linear machines.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Averill said: ‘I’m excited to be taking on this key sales role within the UK. In addition to my sales responsibilities, I’ll also be supporting the linear team at Schaeffler UK.
‘There are many growth opportunities in the UK for our linear products, particularly in high-tech industries, as well as in...mechanical handling systems. Schaeffler’s complete linear offering is one of the widest linear product ranges currently available from a single source.
‘My aim is to help grow the linear side of the UK business by advising, guiding and supporting customers in designing and selecting the right linear motion systems for their application.’
He continued: ‘I’m also looking forward to expanding my knowledge of rotary bearings, particularly with regards to recent developments such as the FAG Generation C range of deep-groove ball bearings, which now offer even lower friction and reduced noise levels.
‘Also, following Schaeffler’s plans to increase their services offering in the UK market, it’s a great time to be joining the company and an opportunity for me to improve my knowledge in areas such as bearing refurbishment and condition monitoring.’
