New rock breakers from Metso
Company expands product portfolio with new hammer and boom combinations for static primary crushers
METSO Mining and Construction have expanded their product portfolio with the introduction of a new rock breaker series designed for stationary primary crushing stations. The proven boom-hammer combination, which is already well known in Metso’s mobile solutions, is now available for static aggregates production and mining applications.
Rock breakers are commonly used in primary crushing stations to break oversized boulders and to clear any clogging in the cavity. Most of today’s primary stations use this combination to ensure smooth, continuous performance and to minimize any idling caused by build-ups and blockages.
‘With safety at work being the number one issue within the construction and mining industries, a remotely controlled boom-hammer combination clearly provides the safest solution for clearing a clogged crusher cavity,’ commented Ilkka Somero, product manager for Metso rock breaker solutions.
‘We have now introduced a range of breaker boom and hammer combinations and can offer our customers a complete turnkey solution. Besides the primary crusher itself, Metso can now offer a comprehensive breaker attachment comprising a boom with assembly framework, hammer, related hydraulic power pack, and remote radio control.’
The new Metso MB-series booms and MH-series hammers include five boom-hammer combinations for jaw crushers and one for primary gyratory crushers. The hammer weights range from 400kg to 2,200kg with corresponding power ratings from 18kW (25hp) to 45kW (60hp).
