Laurence Millington to succeed Travis Young as managing director of company’s UK operations

VORTEX, designers and manufacturers of valves and dustless loading equipment for the efficient handling of dry bulk materials, have appointed Laurence Millington as managing director of the company’s UK operations in Darlington.

Mr Millington will take over the role from Travis Young, who has overseen Vortex’s international operations since 2008.

After nine years of managing the company’s business development in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asian markets, Mr Young has accepted the position of executive vice-president of marketing and global strategy at Vortex’s US corporate headquarters in Kansas.

Commenting on his replacement, Mr Young said: ‘The appointment of Laurence was a straightforward decision. He understands how our business works, the markets we serve and the core values Vortex upholds.’ 

Mr Millington has been employed by the company since 2009 and was promoted to his most recent role of sales director EMEA and Asia in 2015.
