New MD for Lafarge Aggregates
LAFARGE Aggregates & Concrete UK have a new man at the helm of their Aggregates division. Emmanuel Rigaux has taken over from former managing director Robert Whetstone, who has moved to Lafarge’s operation in the eastern US.
Mr Rigaux, who has been with Lafarge since 1999, started in Group audit for three years before moving to the US in 2002, first as a director of land based in Denver, then as an area general manager based in Kansas City.
His most recent position was as head of development for Aggregates & Concrete France. He has also been head of various central functions including public affairs and environment, communication and mineral resources.
Mr Rigaux is no stranger to the UK, however, where he is moving to for the third time. ‘I moved here first as a student, then as part of my national service. It is a great honour for me to come back as the managing director of UK aggregates activity,’ he said.
According to Mr Rigaux, safety, profitability and innovation are at the heart of his vision, which he will share with others through the site visits he intends to carry out in the coming months.
He added: ‘Robert has had a deep, extremely positive impact on this business, and I strongly believe we can leverage further on the unique assets that we have here in the UK.’
