New GIPO roller screen for Hermitage Quarry

GIPO roller grizzly screen

Gallagher Aggregates invest in three-way split tracked grizzly to boost efficiency and productivity

GALLAGHER Aggregates Ltd have invested in a new GIPO three-way-split roller grizzly screen to help increase efficiency and raise productivity at Hermitage Quarry, near Maidstone, in Kent.

The Swiss-manufactured machine was first identified by Pat Gallagher at the Hillhead quarry equipment show in 2016, and following successful trials at Hermitage Quarry and Blaise Quarry during 2017, the decision was taken to purchase a new machine.

The GIPO screen now operates at the quarry face separating the quality limestone from the hassock fines at the point of extraction.

Gallagher say that, in the longer term, this means the hassock will not have to be transported long distances between the face and the main quarry processing area, and instead will be directly placed as restoration material where it is needed.
