New Doosan equipment for Hydrock Contract
Company invests in new fleet of Doosan machines including a DA30 ADT and DL350-3 wheel loader
HYDROCK, a UK leader in specialist construction, infrastructure and environmental services, have taken delivery of a number of new Doosan machines, including DX225LC-3 excavators and a DL350-3 wheel loader model. The full range of equipment is being used for the second phase remediation works on the site of a new £330 million Central Campus for the University of Northampton in the town’s Waterside Enterprise Zone.
Supplied by local Doosan dealers Kellands (Plant Sales) Ltd, the new Doosan DA30 articulated dumptruck and DL350-3 wheel loader, together with DX225LC-3, DX300LC-3 and DX420LC-3 excavators (all Stage IIIB-compliant), are working in tandem with an existing DX300LC excavator and DL300 wheel loader on the scheme.
Graham Bean, senior site manager on the Northampton Waterside project, commented: ‘All the Doosan equipment is of the highest quality and performing well for us. In particular, the latest generation of Doosan excavators has a strong and robust design, with sturdy undercarriages providing excellent stability for all the types of work we undertake. I have also found that the new Doosan machines are quicker in operation than the excavators we have previously worked with.’
The DA30 ADT model is powered by a Scania DC9 Stage IIIB-compliant diesel engine with a gross power output of 276kW (375hp). This level of engine power is complemented by a high gross torque of 1,873Nm at 1,300 rev/min, to produce the powerful rim-pull required to work in extreme hauling conditions.
The large DX420LC-3 crawler excavator is designed to handle a broad range of applications such as heavy earthmoving, road building, civil engineering, demolition, quarrying and large-scale material-handling applications. A 9% increase has taken the system hydraulic pressure up to 350 bar, resulting in higher lifting capabilities, faster cycle times and higher breakout forces.
The Doosan DL350-3 wheel loader, equipped with a Stage IIIB-compliant five-cylinder Scania engine (DC09 SCR) that delivers 202kW at 1,800 rev/min, has been designed and manufactured to provide maximum value. It offers excellent performance and productivity levels, combined with ease of use, simple maintenance and increased fuel savings.
