New compact machines from Komatsu
Komatsu will be launching two crawler skid-steer loaders and two mini-excavators at this month’s Intermat 2006 exhibition.
The CK25-1 and CK35-1 crawler skid-steer loaders are powered by 69.5hp and 84hp engines respectively and feature the same manoeuvrability and compact size as Komatsu’s wheel loaders. For greater functionality, a hydraulic circuit allows the operator to use a number of different attachments. Both machines are available with Super Flow versions for attachments such as a cold planer.
With wide access to the cab and low-effort servo controls, the CK25-1 and CK35-1 deliver high levels of operator comfort. The rigid crawler undercarriage also improves dynamic stability leading to a smooth ride for the driver.
The PC14R-2 and PC16R-2 mini-excavators will be targeted towards the rental market, as they are suitable for a wide range of applications. They supplement Komatsu’s MR-2 mini-excavator range but have a conventional tail design that provides improved stability for their weight and size. Both models are available with a variable undercarriage allowing them to pass through narrow gaps.
The new models feature Komatsu’s closed-centre load-sensing hydraulic system, which is designed to guarantee fast and precise control of all movements whatever the load and engine speed.
There is an option of a two-pole canopy or closed cab. The two-pole canopy offers accessibility and visibility of the working area, while the closed-cab version features a sliding door for easy access.
The engine bonnet provides quick access to all parts needing regular inspection and for larger maintenance tasks the cab/canopy tilts up to reveal all the major components.
