New compact crawler drives from Brevini
Brevini's new range of compact tracked motors (CTM) are designed for use on excavators and other tracked vehicles and self-propelled tyred vehicles weighing up to 40 tonnes.
The lightweight CTM drives are designed for mounting inside the track sprockets of vehicles. They are rotary case-type planetary units that use multiple-gear stages to reduce their size. Available with integrated hydraulic motors, either axial piston or orbital types, they can be fitted with various options including brakes and a disconnect device to aid towing.
The planetary drive is said to be 90% efficient and is able to provide extremely low speeds without any loss of efficiency. There are 13 units in the CTM range and all, apart from the smallest which is dedicated to mini excavators and has an integrated orbital motor, have two or three planetary stages. All gears and shafts are made from alloy steels and the planet carriers are made from high-quality cast iron or steel.
The housings are manufactured from nodular or high-quality grey cast iron, as necessary, to allow them to withstand the stresses from loads on the output shaft.
