New CEO for Groeneveld USA
Bert van Hasselt appointed to shape the future growth of Groeneveld in the United States
WITH effect from 1 October 2012, Bert van Hasselt will take over as CEO of Groeneveld USA Inc., with responsibility for shaping the future growth of Groeneveld in the US, both through company-owned branches and independent dealers.
Mr van Hasselt (pictured) has a financial background and a strong track record in various commercial and senior management positions in the truck industry. In 1999 he became sales director of MAN Truck & Bus in the Netherlands after being sales director of Iveco Netherlands for a number of years.
In 2008 he was appointed chief operating officer of MAN Region West BV, and since 2009 has been chief executive officer of MAN Camion & Bus SAS, the French MAN organization with 600 employees and a turnover of €700 million.
Since Mr van Hasselt became responsible for MAN in France, the market share of the German brand grew from 7% to 12.2%.
‘We are very pleased with the arrival of Bert van Hasselt to Groeneveld. His vast management experience, among others at Iveco and MAN, will be particularly useful in the further expansion of our activities in the US,’ said Ron den Engelsen, managing director of Groeneveld Transport Efficiency.
The US is seen as a very important growth market for Groeneveld, both in the on- and off-road sectors where the company has a leading position with automatic lubrication systems and Oilmaster oil management systems, as well as with Greensight safety devices.
Bert van Hasselt will succeed Michael Womble, who has acted as managing director of Groeneveld USA on an ad-interim basis. Upon the arrival of Mr van Hasselt, Mike Womble will become responsible for off-road OEM sales and key account management for Groeneveld USA.
