AGGREGATE Industries have announced the appointment of Dragan Maksimovic as chief executive officer, effective 1 June 2021. He joins the company from Sika, one of the leading global organizations in the development and production of systems and products for the building materials and automotive sectors.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, Mr Maksimovic has held various executive positions in leading building material suppliers. Over the years he developed his career in the industry in technical and sales representative roles, and most recently was country CEO at Sika UK. Under his leadership, Sika UK delivered exceptional business results and an increased financial performance.

‘I am confident Dragan will continue to drive excellence in the UK construction sector and at the same time deliver on our ambitious sustainability targets,’ said Miljan Gutovic, region head for EMEA at LafargeHolcim. ‘Dragan has a track record of building empowered teams that drive best-in-class results and growth, and a strong record in mergers and acquisitions that will further guide the development of Aggregate Industries.’

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Maksimovic (pictured) said: ‘I am delighted to join Aggregate Industries, one of the leaders in the construction industry. The UK is one of the most important markets for LafargeHolcim and I am very excited to be offered the opportunity of leading the organization on its successful path.

‘I am committed to making AIUK the leading company in the UK for sustainable and innovative building solutions, and with my strong and passionate team by my side, I look forward to the challenge.’

Mr Maksimovic succeeds Guy Edwards, who has decided to pursue other career opportunities outside the organization, having made a significant contribution over the last decade with LafargeHolcim through various roles in the UK and US.
