New book to mark JCB’s 75th birthday

JCB Scrapbook

Company celebrates three-quarters of a century of engineering innovation with new illustrated scrapbook

A NEW book celebrating JCB’s 75 years of engineering innovation has just been published. The 144-page JCB Scrapbook featuring more than 400 photographs, some published for the first time ever, promises to be a treat for all fans of JCB and their iconic machinery.

From the first trailer, produced from post-war scrap metal in 1945, to the latest award-winning electric mini-digger, the story of JCB is told through a remarkable collection of images from the company’s own archives.

JCB chairman Lord Bamford said: ‘This book, I hope, will act as a celebration of the past 75 years: the innovations, the engineering excellence, and the achievements of all those who have made up the wider JCB family from its inception in 1945.

‘I hope, too, that it will serve as inspiration for the next generation – those talented young people currently rising through the colleges and universities, including our very own JCB Academy.’

Published by Porter Press International and priced at £20, the book is a celebration of one of Great Britain’s greatest engineering names and its remarkable machines. It can be purchased from: www.jcbshop.com
