Limited edition ‘Earthmovers in USA Australia & Europe’ now available direct from the author

AS a correspondent for Earthmovers magazine, David Wylie builds on his sold-out ‘Earthmovers in…’ series of books to bring more mining and quarrying-related site visits to life with his new title ‘Earthmovers in USA Australia & Europe’. Travelling across Europe and half-way around the world, he captures some of the biggest, and arguably best, earthmoving equipment in action.

‘Earthmovers in USA Australia & Europe’ is on sale from July 2024 and brings together 23 reports that record company profiles, mining machines, and cutting-edge payload technology in action. The book contains new insights from machine designers, along with the views of highly skilled and experienced operators and managers that share their wealth of experience operating these mining machines.

This book features the largest operational dragline in the world, as well as some of the largest rope shovels, hydraulic earthmovers, and dumptrucks from the likes of Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Liebherr, such as the 7,500-ton Bucyrus-Erie 2570WS dragline, P&H 4100XPB and Bucyrus 795HR rope shovels, Cat 795F and Komatsu 930E haul trucks in Wyoming, and a 120-tonne heavy-duty Komatsu D475A-8 dozer in the UK. The 240-tonne Cat 994 wheel loader, 800-tonne class Liebherr R 9800, T282C haulers in Australia, and a visit to the Liebherr-Mining factory in Colmar France are also covered in detail. A Komatsu PC360-11 SLR with bespoke Euro-Fab dredging bucket is also covered.

The book includes more than 500 stunning photographs, all carefully composed to capture the raw power and performance of each machine, whilst over 75 high-quality photographs are presented on double pages to help bring the reader closer to the action. Containing more than 73,000 words, this stunning and detailed fourth book from David Wylie will be of interest to enthusiasts, owners, operators, and site managers worldwide.

In the book’s foreword and testimonial, renowned machinery journalist and author Keith Haddock says: ‘David’s photography is outstanding with high-quality action images. I would say he is one of the top photojournalists in the industry.’

Peter Haddock of Content With Media Ltd, adds: ‘As a world-renowned journalist, David’s well-earned and trusted relationships are second to none. And because of this, he has exclusive access to the most exciting, biggest and best projects, particularly in the mining sector.’

Available as a limited-edition with only 300 copies for sale, ‘Earthmovers in USA Australia & Europe’ can be purchased directly from the author from this month onwards and is expected to be sold out by the lead up to Christmas 2024. To order a copy, priced at £38.50 + P&P, contact David Wylie via e-mail at: [email protected] or via his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/earthmovingbooks
