New bearing mounting software
Rolling bearing manufacturers Schaeffler UK have recently launched an intelligent software programme that helps engineers select the correct mounting method when mounting rolling bearings with tapered bores – either directly on to a tapered shaft or with an adapter sleeve on to a cylindrical shaft.
Available as a CD-ROM or by going online, FAG Mounting Manager demonstrates the various mechanical and hydraulic mounting and dismounting methods for rolling bearings; calculates the data needed for the mounting or dismounting procedure; provides useful tips; and creates a list of the required mounting accessories and tools.
The fast, accurate and easy-to-use software simplifies and reduces the time taken to mount rolling bearings. More importantly, safety is improved as the software ensures that the fitter mounts the sealed bearing correctly, which, in turn, leads to a longer operating life for the bearing.
