More Volvo ADTs for Daly Plant Hire

Volvo A30G articulated dumptruck

Company adds three new Volvo A30G articulated dumptrucks to its plant hire fleet

DALY Plant Hire Ltd of Redhill, Surrey, have invested in three new Volvo A30G articulated dumptrucks, bringing their mix of C-, D-, E-, F- and now G-Series ADT units to a Volvo fleet total of 22 machines.

Having operated a mixture of A25 and A30 Volvo articulated haulers for more than 20 years, the company’s managing director, Eamon Daly, said: ‘To be honest, we wouldn’t run anything else. Our Volvo trucks have proved their worth time and time again in terms of reliability, performance and, most importantly, client acceptance.

‘One of our oldest C-Series models has clocked up an impressive 30,000 operating hours on the original powertrain components and that speaks volumes for the pedigree of the truck.’

Operating a fleet of 22 trucks including the latest A30G models, Daly Plant Hire have developed a niche in the hire market, hiring to blue-chip contractors and projects throughout the south-east of England.

Some of the high-profile developments that the company has been involved in include: Heathrow Terminal 5; the M25 widening; redevelopment of Ascot Racecourse; and the 2012 Olympic site. The company has also branched out into the loader hire market with the purchase of a Volvo L110G model.

Volvo say the A30G hauler meets the requirements of Stage IV Final emissions legislation, thanks to a 264kW electronically controlled, six-cylinder, turbocharged Volvo V-ACT diesel engine which delivers high torque at low engine speeds, resulting in good fuel efficiency, high performance, quicker engine response and reduced wear/longer service life.

Purpose built by Volvo, the engine is designed to exactly match the Volvo drivetrain, ensuring the best use of power and torque, even in tough working conditions. It is matched to a torque converter with built-in lock-up function and fitted with a fully automatic fast adaptive transmission. The rest of the Volvo designed and built powertrain has been reinforced to cope with the higher torque output of the engine.

With a carrying capacity of 28 tonnes and heaped capacity of 17.5 cubic metres, the A30G has a maximum speed of 53km/h. The hauler is also fitted with Volvo’s CareTrack telematics system as standard, allowing remote monitoring of a wide range of machine functions (location, fuel consumption, service reminders etc) to help optimize customer operations.
