Metso to acquire Swedish aggregate plant provider
Acquisition of P.J. Jonsson och Söner AB set to strengthen Metso’s offering to Nordic countries
METSO have agreed to acquire Swedish aggregate equipment manufacturers P.J. Jonsson och Söner AB, with the aim of strengthening the breadth and availability of their product and service offering for the aggregates industry in the Nordic countries.
P.J. Jonsson och Söner, based in Överhörnäs, Sweden, specialize in the supply of mobile crushing and screening plants. The company, which has approximately 40 employees, achieved sales of SEK342 million (€33 million) in 2017.
The acquisition, which is subject to customary closing conditions, including clearance from the Swedish Competition Authority, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2018. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction.
