Metso appoint McHale as exclusive agents in Ireland
New appointment returns Birdhill-based plant hire company to crushing and screening market
METSO have appointed McHale Plant Sales Ltd as their exclusive agents in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for mobile rock crushing and screening product lines.
Under the new arrangement, Birdhill-based McHale will begin selling Metso products with immediate effect, with their primary focus on Lokotrack mobile crushing and screening plants – equipment that McHale believe will have significant appeal for Irish customers.
The appointment sees McHale Plant Sales return to the crushing and screening market, in which the company previously enjoyed considerable success.
Describing their appointment as one that ‘rekindles a long-standing involvement in the crushing and screening market’, managing director Michael McHale said: ‘The Metso product line gives us a premium product offering that fits perfectly into our operation and adds considerably to the value we can bring to customers.’
Metso say the expertise that McHale Plant Sales have within the sector is a feature that should advance their market position in Ireland, which is especially significant at a time when the Irish economy is showing strong signs of recovery with some very significant infrastructure projects in the pipeline.
During the start-up phase, both parties will support the appointment through a number of initiatives. From Metso, there will be factory support in customer-focused areas such as spare parts supply logistics, technical training and product knowledge communication.
On the McHale side, a key objective will be to undertake activities that will increase awareness of Metso crushing and screening equipment in the Irish market. Included in the measures planned is the opening in June of a high-profile Metso centre at Rathcoole, near Dublin.
As one of Ireland’s leading construction plant and civil works machinery distributors, McHale Plant Sales have roots within the sector that date back to the 1950s. Last year, they celebrated their 20th anniversary as a Komatsu distributor in Ireland. The company also has significant interests in the agricultural and materials-handling sectors.
