MANN+HUMMEL introduce SintROC diesel particulate filters

MANN+HUMMEL, the development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries, have launched the SintROC diesel particulate filter series, designed to reduce sulphur and NO2 emissions of diesel engines.

Developed for non-road vehicles, the series includes six sizes for engines in the output range of 75-600kW and reduces NO2 emissions by up to 70%.

SintROC combines the advantages of the existing MANN+HUMMEL CRT and SMF-AR diesel particulate filters in one product. As with a CRT system,

SintROC regenerates continuously, however, it does not require constantly high exhaust gas temperatures, just an exhaust gas temperature above 380oC for 10% of the operating time. This requirement is usually satisfied in the engine output range for which SintROC was designed.

The filter element has a high ash holding capacity and can easily be cleaned with a steam cleaner. In addition, SintROC is a lifetime component; it has a robust element and does not require replacement for the lifetime of the machine. The regeneration of SintROC is fully automatic and is carried out quickly without any machine downtime. The filter functions independently of the diesel sulphur content. SintROC provides higher engine performance with a simultaneous reduction of the fuel consumption through beneficial backpressure characteristics in comparison to ceramic filters.
