Aggregate Industries

Company announces appointment of new chief executive officer and changes to statutory board

AGGREGATE Industries Ltd have announced the appointment of Pat Ward as chief executive officer, with effect from 1 April 2014. He succeeds Alain Bourguignon who, after four successful years with the business, has been promoted to area manager for North America and the UK by Aggregate Industries’ parent company, Holcim Ltd.

Mr Ward has been with Aggregate Industries for nearly 20 years in various roles across the company’s UK and US operations. Having joined the company as a general manager in 1995 he relocated to Denver, Colorado, in 1999 as vice-president of the West Central Region, later becoming senior vice-president of the Western and Mid-Atlantic Region.

Commenting on the appointment, Alain Bourguignon said: ‘Pat is perfectly placed to hit the ground running as we respond to the demands of a returning construction market. Not only does he have an excellent knowledge of the sector, but he knows our own business inside out and will be a great cultural fit.’

Meanwhile, as part of a move to consolidate the statutory board of Aggregate Industries Ltd and align it with other Holcim companies, five non-executive board members will leave their roles from 1 April 2014, including non-executive board member and former chief executive officer Bill Bolsover CBE.

Commenting on the contribution of the departing non-executive directors, Mr Bourguignon said: ‘Our departing board members have given us a great deal of support and direction over many years of service and I would like to thank each of them for their tireless commitment to Aggregate Industries.’

He added: ‘I’d particularly like to single out the significant contribution Bill Bolsover has made not just to the success of Aggregate Industries, but also to the wider construction sector.’
