Montreal-based firm introduces latest 1ft x 2ft self-cleaning Flex-Mat 3 screening media
MAJOR Wire Industries are now offering new size 1ft x 2ft (305mm x 610mm) Flex-Mat 3 modular screen media panels.
The screening media, which features vibrating wire Flex-Mat 3 advanced technology, fits virtually any flat-surface screen deck, allowing screening operations using traditional 1ft x 1ft (305mm x 305mm) and 1ft x 2ft polyurethane and rubber panels to increase existing screening capacity and material throughput by up to 50%.
Screening operators can choose between pin-, grooved-, snap- and step-tyres in opening sizes of 30 mesh, or 0.5mm to 38mm. According to Major Wire, both the new 1ft x 1ft and 1ft x 2ft panels provide up to 50% more screen media open area than traditional rigid polyurethane and rubber panels.
In addition, each new 1ft x 2ft panel increases total screen media open area by up to 55% compared with using two traditional 1ft x 1ft polyurethane or rubber panels to cover the same screen deck area. No screen box changes are necessary to switch to the larger panels.
Flex-Mat 3 modular panels are easy to install using the same fastening system as conventional polyurethane and rubber panels, and are available in stainless steel or the company’s proprietary OptimumWire. Wire diameters range from 0.6mm to 9.5mm.
Snap- and step-types are available in 1ft x 2ft sizes, while the pin- and grooved-types are offered in both 1ft x 1ft and 1ft x 2ft sizes
