Major contract renewal for Breedon Aggregates

Company to provide asphalt resurfacing services for the repair and maintenance of roads in Norfolk

BREEDON Aggregates have renewed a contract, valued at approximately £7.5 million over the next three years, to provide asphalt resurfacing services to infrastructure services group May Gurney and the Norfolk Strategic Partnership (NSP).

The NSP is a long-term partnership between Norfolk County Council, May Gurney and Mott MacDonald covering maintenance and repairs to nearly 10,000km of highways and footways in the county.

The contract will be serviced by Breedon Aggregates’ asphalt production and contracting division based at Longwater, near Norwich.

Commenting on the win, Breedon Aggregates’ East Anglia general manager Dave Lewis said: ‘We are pleased to be playing our part with May Gurney in keeping Norfolk’s roads in good repair.

‘This contract renewal is the latest in a series of new business wins for Breedon Aggregates in East Anglia, including around 100,000 tonnes of sand and aggregates to be supplied to two customers from our quarry in Shropham and 18,000 tonnes of asphalt from our Longwater plant to the Lotus test track in Hethel.’
