Left-turn warning system

OVER 400 people are killed every year throughout Europe from near-side turning collisions. To help prevent these incidents Transport Support have introduced an audible warning system.

The system consists of four ultrasonic sensors mounted down the left side of the vehciel and a warning display mounted in the cab. When the left-hand indicator is switched on, the unit will sense the presence of a cyclist, pedestrian or vehicle and give its position and range up to 3m. A voice warning is also played, saying: ‘Warning! This vehicle is turning left’, to warn anyone on the near side.

The device can be fitted to a range of vehicles including articulated and rigid trucks, tankers etc. It is supplied complete with a master speaker unit and two slave speaker units, as well as a complete wiring harness to connect the units together. The master unit detects a signal is being made from the indicator and then plays the message through itself and the two slave speakers until the indicator signal is removed.

The unit is also available as a right-turn system with the message available in different languages upon request.
