L&B Haulage celebrate 25 years of Volvo loyalty
Devonian hauler takes delivery of a new Volvo FM11 six-wheel tipper as it continues long association with the Swedish truck brand
THE purchase of a new Volvo FM11 six-wheeler by family-business L&B Haulage marks more than 25 years of loyalty to the Swedish brand. The first Volvo truck joined the business in 1983, and since that time owner Angelo Binaccione has built up a fleet that is now 100% Volvo.
Finished in the clean white livery of Bardon Aggregates, the FM11 tipper, supplied by Truck and Bus Wales & West, is powered by an 11-litre engine (rated at 370hp) and features a Volvo I-Shift fully automated gearbox.
The truck includes an insulated Wilcox Wilcolite tipper (suitable for transporting both asphalt and aggregates) and air-operated split tailgate with integral tarmac chutes. The tipping gear is an Edbro front-mounted single-ram system.
L&B Haulage have specified the highest levels of equipment on the FM11 truck in order to optimize performance and maintain its residual value. Bespoke features include: a PM on-board weighing system; two-camera safety system with an integrated dash-mounted monitor; automated sheeting; stainless steel mirror guards; and roof-mounted beacons.
