Flexco have introduced their new 900 Series belt cutter, designed to safely and accurately cut thick and/or hard carcass belts while significantly reducing operator effort, thanks to advances in blade technology.
With the patent pending 900 Series cutter, users can safely and easily cut through belts up to 1.5in (38mm) in thickness. A highly precise cut is achieved through a combination of robust blade design, the gently serrated belt-grip surface, and the single-sided clamp force, which allows the belt to fall free from the cut line.
Specifically designed for operator safety, the 900 Series belt cutter also meets the ‘Flexco Safe’ standard. The blade itself is totally enclosed during the entire cutting process and is safely stored within the cutter when not in use. In addition, the special ‘T’ top blade design helps to protect users from injury.
In use, the cutter slides easily into position and the upper clamp beam is rapidly engaged to speed-up the cutting process. The cut line can be quickly aligned with clear visibility and the torque required to cut the belt is claimed to be over 50% less than other cutters. When the cut is complete, quick-release clamps are used to remove the top beam by simply depressing a lever.
Flexco have also recently introduced their new line of DRX impact beds, which have been engineered to maximize belt protection while offering ease of installation and maintenance.
While other impact beds rely on the support bars to reduce impact, the DRX unit incorporates velocity-reduction technology in the structure design, providing multi-level support to more effectively absorb impact energy and minimize transmission to the belt.
In addition, the DRX’s slide-out service feature allows direct access to the bars and bolts for easy inspection and quick, safe maintenance when required.
The highly versatile DRX200, DRX750, DRX1500 and DRX3000 Dynamic versions meet or exceed US CEMA standards and can handle applications ranging from light-duty sand and gravel to the most heavy-duty or extreme applications combining large material and a severe drop height.
