LafargeHolcim appoint new CEO
Jan Jenisch to take over as chief executive officer with effect from 16 October 2017
LafargeHolcim have announced the appointment of Jan Jenisch as chief executive officer, with effect from 16 October 2017. He will join the Group from Swiss company Sika AG, who have a leading global position in the development and production of systems and products for the building materials and automotive sectors.
Mr Jenisch has been chief executive officer of Sika AG since January 2012. Under his leadership, Sika have developed their business in new markets and set new standards of performance in sales and profitability. As a result, the market capitalization of Sika has more than tripled and the company has recently gained admission to the Swiss Market Index.
Commenting on the appointment, Beat Hess, chairman of LafargeHolcim, said: ‘Jan Jenisch is a CEO who is widely respected for consistently delivering strong business results and he comes with a deep understanding of the building materials sector.

Mr Jenisch’s appointment as CEO follows the recent resignation of Eric Olsen, who is due leave the Group on 15 July 2017. Chairman Beat Hess will then act as interim CEO until Mr Jenisch takes up his new post in October.
