St-Gobain reach binding agreement to acquire Northern Irish quarrying and mineral processor

KILWAUGHTER Minerals Ltd are to become part of the multinational Saint-Gobain group after a binding agreement was reached for Saint-Gobain to acquire the Northern Irish quarrying and mineral processor.

Saint-Gobain, a global leader in the design and manufacture of solutions for the construction industry, have a wide-ranging portfolio of lightweight construction solutions for building facades and envelopes and employ 160,000 people across 76 countries.

 

Headquartered at their limestone quarry in Larne, Northern Ireland, Kilwaughter serve construction and agriculture customers throughout the UK and Ireland, with distribution centres in Glasgow, Cork, and St Helens.

Known for leading brands K Rend, K Systems, and Kilwaughter Lime, the company has more than 200 employees and generated revenues of c.£50 million to year end (April 2024).

Closing of the transaction is expected in the first half 2025 and is subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
