JCB win £2.75 million order from Jarvie Plant

JCB win order from Jarvie Plant

One of Scotland’s biggest plant hire firms invests in a new fleet of JCB machines

JCB have won a deal for more than 50 machines worth £2.75 million from Grangemouth-based Jarvie Plant Group. Supplied by dealers Scot JCB, the order includes: 3CX backhoe loaders; 2CX Streetmaster backhoe loaders; JS130 tracked excavators; 540-170/535-95 Loadalls; and JCB’s new series of eight-tonne 85Z-1 and 86C-1 midi-excavators.

Jarvie have purchased the new machines to support expansion of their core plant fleet and growing depot network. This growth follows the opening of a new site in Dundee and another to be opened in Aberdeen this summer. The company has also secured a major roads maintenance contract from City of Edinburgh Council.

David Jarvie, business development director for Jarvie Plant Group, said ‘We use JCB for a wide variety of equipment. There is also excellent availability of JCB machines in Scotland which is not always the case with their competitors, so we can generally order machines as demand dictates.

‘The extensive dealer network ensures a rapid response and the back-up support is second to none – even in the remote areas in which some of our machines operate. JCB excavators are extremely strong and durable, with the 86C-1 already our most popular machine. The new 8-tonne models also offer larger digging areas and greater capacity, plus the new styling is very strong.’

He continued: ‘Following requests from several customers, we have now added several JS220 models with dual-flow hydraulics, providing greater attachment utilization, including rotating grabs for demolition. The JCB backhoe loaders are the market leader for good reason. Overall, JCB is a strong brand which is popular with customers and makes up a high proportion of our fleet.’
