JCB win major order from leading plant hirer
International rental company Boels invest in a fleet of 225 compact excavators from JCB
LEADING international rental company Boels are investing in a fleet of 225 JCB compact excavators. The multi-million pound deal has been placed by the Netherlands-based company for a range of micro-, mini- and midi-excavators. The order, which was secured by JCB NV in the Netherlands, is the largest Boels has ever placed with JCB.
The Dutch firm has ordered 100 of the JCB 8008 micro-excavator model with the remainder being made up of the 8018, 8025, 8035, 8050 and 8085 models. All the machines will be manufactured by JCB Compact Products in Cheadle, Staffordshire.
Tim Burnhope, JCB group managing director for product development and commercial operations, said: ‘We are delighted to win a large order from such a respected player in the European rental industry. We are winning more and more large deals for JCB’s compact excavator range, which underlines the reputation the machines have for high quality and performance.’
The Boels business, which is based in the Maastricht region, started in 1977 when Pierre Boels senior began a small tool rental enterprise from his garage with a single grinding machine. Today the company’s rental fleet is valued at more than €200 million and the firm has more than 215 branch offices and operates from more than 1,200 rental locations in The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland.
