JCB secure major forklift order
JCB have won an order for 94 JCB Teletrucks from a company appointed to be their materials handling fleet service provider. The new forklifts – which are being manufactured in Cheadle, Staffordshire – have been acquired by Barloworld Handling, who currently manage JCB’s 310-strong materials handling fleet across 11 plants in the UK.
The industrial forklifts will be a mixture of diesel- and LPG-powered machines (3- to 3.5-tonne capacity) acclaimed for their forwards reach over obstacles using a telescopic boom.
Commenting on the multi-million-pound deal, Chris Nowell said: ‘This is one of the biggest single orders in the UK this year for industrial forklifts and is one of the largest ever deals we’ve done for JCB Teletruks. Many businesses, including ourselves, now rely on the benefits of forwards reach because of the time it saves loading and unloading.’
